FC Western were at home looking for a win to stay in touch with the lead pack while Thistle with six losses in the first nine games travelled across the island for the game. It was some game that transpired with the scores level at one a piece. The game would spring into life from the 60th minute with three goals in three minutes (two for Thistle and one for FC Western). With Thistle ahead by one at that point, Jimmy Somerton put the game to bed for the away side with goals in the 75th and 85th minutes to complete his hattrick, claiming three points and a 2-5 win.

Palmerston North United had been on some run, to the point where it was looking like the title could be locked up if they won at Athletic on the weekend. It wasn’t to be as the home side handed PNU their second loss of the season courtesy of Vanya Apiata-Hodgkinson 78th minute winner in the 1-0. United will have to wait at least one more week while Athletic will want to go on a winning run for their remaining matches to keep the pressure on as long as possible.

HNW opened the match with Finn Baragwanath getting a brace of goals, this was followed by Archie Absolom extending the sides lead with a brace of goals also. In this week's Match of the round ECR Western Rangers Reserves took on Palm City Motor Inn Port Hill Utd Reserves. The Rangers got an early lead thanks to a goal from Damian Gregory. However, Port Hill equalized quickly afterwards with Luke Posthumus getting the ball over the line in the 12th minute. This was followed by Matthew Betesta getting a hat trick of goals to give Port Hill the lead and Max Robotham getting on the score card as well to extend the lead before the break 5-1. Andrew Milne got a brace of goals in the second half to give Port Hill a comfortable 7-1 lead. Rangers got one back in the 70th minute thanks to Cory Janssen however this wasn’t enough as Port Hill took the win 7-2.
