Suchy & Co Realty FC Western vs Electrinet Gisborne Thistle
FC Western were at home looking for a win to stay in touch with the lead pack while Thistle with six losses in the first nine games travelled across the island for the game. It was some game that transpired with the scores level at one a piece. The game would spring into life from the 60th minute with three goals in three minutes (two for Thistle and one for FC Western). With Thistle ahead by one at that point, Jimmy Somerton put the game to bed for the away side with goals in the 75th and 85th minutes to complete his hattrick, claiming three points and a 2-5 win.

Palmerston North United had been on some run, to the point where it was looking like the title could be locked up if they won at Athletic on the weekend. It wasn’t to be as the home side handed PNU their second loss of the season courtesy of Vanya Apiata-Hodgkinson 78th minute winner in the 1-0.  United will have to wait at least one more week while Athletic will want to go on a winning run for their remaining matches to keep the pressure on as long as possible.

In this week’s match of the round, Westshore Beach Inn Eskview Blues took on Turfrey Taradale AFC. Eskview opened the scoring with a brace of goals from Briar Cloake in the first half, Jane Barnett got on the score card as well to give Eskview a 3-nil lead at the break. Taradale got one back in the second half to close the gap thanks to Jade Leith. However, this wasn’t enough as Jane went on to net 4 more goals for her side. Eskview took the win 7-1.

In this weekend's match of the round, Falcon Electrical Taradale AFC took on HNW Big Barrel Premiers. HNW opened the match with Finn Baragwanath getting a brace of goals, this was followed by Archie Absolom extending the sides lead with a brace of goals also. Dave Tyman got one back for Taradale before the break. In the second half Taradale got two more goals to close the gap. However, this wasn’t enough to stop a strong HNW side as they got three more goals to take the win 7-3.

HB Men's Championship 

In this week's Match of the round ECR Western Rangers Reserves took on Palm City Motor Inn Port Hill Utd Reserves. The Rangers got an early lead thanks to a goal from Damian Gregory. However, Port Hill equalized quickly afterwards with Luke Posthumus getting the ball over the line in the 12th minute. This was followed by Matthew Betesta getting a hat trick of goals to give Port Hill the lead and Max Robotham getting on the score card as well to extend the lead before the break 5-1. Andrew Milne got a brace of goals in the second half to give Port Hill a comfortable 7-1 lead. Rangers got one back in the 70th minute thanks to Cory Janssen however this wasn’t enough as Port Hill took the win 7-2.

In this week's match of the round Elite Flooring Maycenvale Vikings took on Burger Fuel Port Hill Utd Div3. Port Hill netted three goals in the first half to take the lead 3-nil. Maycenvale got one back in the 65th minute to close the gap thanks to Chris Scully. However, this wasn’t enough to slow the strong Port Hill side as they scored 5 more goals to extend their lead to 8-1. Maycenvale fought hard and got one back before the final whistle to take the score to 2-8. Port Hill took the win 8-2.
